Reference No: 13774

What's the role?

We’re looking for an experienced Sales Specialist to join our technical sales team in the UK. You will be working within our Government sales team.

Knowledge of passive fire protection products would be beneficial as well as experience in Business Development.

But this is no ordinary sales job, as ours is a uniquely high-performing and supportive working culture. These roles are open to both experienced candidates and recent graduates.

You will have the opportunity to work on some of the UK’s biggest construction projects whilst at the same time receiving world-class training and development to take your career to the next level.

Who is Hilti?

Unless you work in construction, you probably haven't heard of us. We're a hidden gem.

We provide leading-edge tools, technologies, software and services for the professional construction sector. Our customers are loyal and enthusiastic about us. So are our people.

We regularly win Great Place to Work awards globally and have been on the Times Top 100 Best Companies to Work For list in the UK for the past 13 years – we are proud to have been voted #35 in 2019.

Hilti offers the best of both worlds – friendly teams locally and roles across the UK combined with the opportunities only a company of 30,000 people spread across 120 countries can bring.

What does the role involve?

As a sales specialist, you’ll be out and about visiting our customers, wherever they’re busy working, to find out how we can help them. You could find yourself on construction sites and nuclear plants or in offices and warehouses.
- Professional field sales and high level customer consultation in territories nationwide
- Developing existing as well as establishing new customer relationships
- Providing efficient solutions and technical support to offices and building sites backed by our innovative range of products and services
- Introduction of new products and representation of the Hilti brand in the market place
- Promotion and demonstration of Hilti products and solutions using a fully equipped, branded vehicle

Hilti GB are proud to rank 35th in the Sunday Times Top 100 employers for 2019!

What do we offer?

We really value our people and we've worked hard to develop a competitive reward package that reflects this. Some of the benefits we offer include:

-Genuine career advancement (more than 80% of all leadership roles are filled internally)
-Competitive salary and above-average performance bonus
-6% employer pension contributions
-Private Health Insurance and Employee Assistance Programme
-33 days' holiday (inc. Bank Holidays) plus the ability to purchase 5 days more annually
-Paid leave to work on charitable projects
-Hilti Benefits Box, a reward platform offering a cycle to work scheme and shopping and lifestyle discounts/cashback
-Hilti branded van with fuel card

Why should you apply?

We have an excellent mix of people and some of our best account managers joined us with no experience. So, if you’ve never worked in sales or construction, that’s fine with us. Success at Hilti is down to teamwork and ability, no matter what your background.

What you need is:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or proven sales experience in a B2B role
  • Experience within the construction and Government industry is desirable, but not essential
  • Commercial mindset with strong customer service approach
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Energy, courage, commitment and a high learning agility

Click through the 'Apply Now' button where you will be asked to upload your CV and answer a couple of short questions – the whole process should take around 90 seconds. If we like what we see, you'll be invited to complete a short video or telephone interview.

If you need any support with your application please contact e1teamresourcing@hilti.com

Once you're in the formal process, there are three stages – a first interview with a Regional Manager, a day-in-the-life 'field ride' to give you a real feel for the job and a final interview with a Sales Director. We'll also pay your expenses if you have to travel to meet us.

If we don't have a suitable role for you at the moment, we will keep you in our talent pool for the future so your recruitment process might take a bit longer but we'll be sure to stay in touch.

“How am I going to sell power tools? I’ve never drilled a hole in my life! That’s what I thought when I first joined Hilti, but it’s really not like that. It’s about nurturing your strengths and being rewarded for hard work.”

- James, Customer service representative (sales)
