General Ledger Accountant
What's the role?
The General Ledger Accountant is a key member of the finance regional office;
supporting the global financial close process and driving value through
analysis. You will be instrumental to the monthly cycle by owning the timely and accurate financial postings for your market organisation; including the delivery of financial statements.
A key aspect of this role is to build strong stakeholder relationships throughout our Northern Europe Finance Shared Services Hub here in Manchester; and the global Hilti community by adding value to our core processes and striving to meet best practice at all times.
This role is suitable to a part-qualified or newly qualified accountant with demonstrated knowledge of double entry book-keeping and IFRS reporting.
This role is initially to be offered on a 12 month fixed-term contract basis.

What does the role involve?
Responsible for on-time, efficient and correct execution of finance related matters (incoming payments / execution supplier payments for several legal entities etc)

The role will be based remotely until autumn 2021, when we will move to state of the art new premises at Circle Square in Central Manchester, a short walk from Oxford Road train station and St Peter's Square Metrolink stop.

What you need is:
- Qualified Accountant or working towards an accounting qualification
- Solid knowledge of finance and experience of double-entry bookkeeping, IFRS and month end close
- Enthusiastic, proactive and self-reliant person with good communication skills
- Strong IT skills, preferably knowledge of SAP and an advanced excel user
- Team player, dedicated to both task and team
