What's the role?

Join our Northern European engineering team as a Fire Support Engineer at our UK Head Office in Manchester.

Our key involvement in the fire industry is in sassive fire protection in which we are one of the market leaders.

In the past few years there has been an increase in the demand in passive fire protection and we are therefore increasing our fire team.

As a fire engineer at Hilti you will be working alongside our fire engineers in the UK in order to develop professional fire engineering judgements to our customers using the current state of art, our extensive tesing data and our global expertise.

What does the role involve?

Responsibilities will include:

- Develop high quality professional fire engineering judgements for our customers to support them on their projects when their application is outside of the approvals

-Progressively develop and maintain expertise in passive fire protection for applications out of the standards

-Use these expertise to provide solutions directly to customers and also to support Engineering team members in both support and field based roles with appropriate consideration of the current Liability Policy

- Develop a strong working relationship with the Firestop Engineers and relevant Business Unit

- Deliver Engineering Services as per our strategy by maintaining effective and efficient activity recording and following our internal execution process

What you need is:

  • Pro-active and Enthusiastic
  • Teamplayer
  • Degree or equivalent experience in Structural, Civil , Mechanical Engineering or Fire Engineering
  • Good level of knowledge of the construction industry and the design & construction process with all relevant technical disciplines associated with applications/products
  • Experience in fire engineering or passive fire protection is preferred
  • Basic understanding of fire and relevant codes and standards
  • Practical Firestop experience is a plus
